The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method

The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client’s exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine’s interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.

I began my training with Melisa in 2016 and earned my EGCMethod Practitioner Certification in 2018.

My toolbox to assist parents in creating joyful families is extensive and grows with every session. I am confident in the method not only because of my training, but because part of my graduation requirement was to experience the transformation for myself. I am living proof that the EGCMethod works and offers long term personal growth and freedom.

Why do I do this work? “To inspire others to find and become their dreams so that joy becomes the norm.”

Below is a video that explains a bit more about the EGCMethod in layman’s terms. I can assure you, however, that no amount of text or video can prepare you for what you will experience — and the profound changes that can occur with this type of coaching. For that knowledge, call me. Let’s arrange a session so you can experience it for yourself.

This video explains how the EGCMethod works in easy to understand language and graphics.

Scientifically Proven Results

In 2016 and 2017 my colleague Jaclyn Manzione MS, NLC, EGCM Certified Practitioner, and her husband, G Thomas Manzione Ph.D, LPC at the Xanthus Center (xanthuscenter.com) put together a research study on the efficacy of the EGCMethod. You can get further information and more specifics on the TouchedbyaHorse.com website, but I want to share the highlights with you here.

100% of the participants agreed or strongly agreed that the EGCMethod was something they would want to experience again.

100% of the participants agreed or strongly agreed that the EGCMethod offered them the ability to see a more hopeful future.

100% of the participants in this study were homeless 12-24 year olds with a history of trauma, mental illness and substance abuse.

This method is the merger of Gestalt methodology — a proven psychotherapy technique — with equine assisted coaching. Horses are masters of Gestalt principles because they naturally are aware of everything in their surroundings and seek to find balance within their environment and themselves. Their natural instincts and intuition make them outstanding coaching partners for those of us seeking to bring balance and awareness to our own lives and the lives of others.

Let's Talk ...

What the horses and I do is a non-traditional kind of work. We go way beyond talking about an issue and analyzing it. The horses and I will support you to access deep parts of yourself that are at work out of your consciousness, in an experiential way, so that the effects of your past issues are released from your being. The result is a sense of freedom to live your life in the way that you truly desire, and that your children truly deserve.

Let's start with a simple phone call or email. Reach out. You have everything to gain.
